ABOUT SILOSOLVE® OS
Most farmers lose valuable silage every year, mainly due to spoilage in the top layer—the hardest part to compact and most exposed to oxygen. This leads to lower feed quality, reduced milk yields, and lost profits.
SiloSolve® OS is a targeted top-layer silage treatment designed to prevent this loss. It works through a dual-action approach: Sodium Benzoate sterilises the top layer to prevent spoilage, which exclusive oxygen-scavenging bacteria fight oxygen when the clamp is opened.

WHAT IS INSIDE SILOSOLVE® OS?
SiloSolve® OS is a powerful, inoculant designed to protect the silage clamp’s top layer and shoulders by forming a stable barrier against oxygen.
Its unique blend of bacteria – including oxygen-scavenging Lactococcus lactis (O-224) – and Sodium Benzoate work together to halt spoilage, preventing yeast, mould, and harmful bacteria.
The result? Enhanced preservation, and a waste-free top layer.

Results from nine farms consistently showed reduced levels of mould and yeast in maize silage treated with SiloSolve® OS. The bacterial strains created the optimal condition for the sodium benzoate to keep spoilage microorganisms in check and the value of your silage well preserved.

SiloSolve® OS effectively improves aerobic stability by reducing yeast and mould growth in a variety of forage crops. The longer it takes silage to surpass 3 degrees celsius above the ambient temperature, the more stable it is. Forages ensiled with SiloSolve® OS are more stable than untreated silages.
SiloSolve® OS improves Dry Matter recovery
SiloSolve® OS features a trusted combination of three bacterial strains that accelerates fermentation and improves dry matter recovery up to 6.6% points in challenging difficult-to-ensile silages while stabilising the top layer. Not only does this result in more feed for cows, it reduces the amount of labour needed to remove the spoiled layer.

Is SiloSolve® OS suitable for organic farms?
No, SiloSolve® OS is not organic certified.
Which crops can SiloSolve® OS be used on?
SiloSolve® OS is ideal for all forage crops, including wholecrop, maize, small grain, grasses and alfalfa/grass mixtures.
It is especially beneficial for harder-to-compact crops like wholecrop and maize, as well as those ensiled at higher-than-ideal dry matter levels.
How is SiloSolve® OS different to other silage additives?
SiloSolve® OS is a one-of-a-kind silage inoculant designed specifically to protect the top layer of your clamp.
How do I use SiloSolve® OS?
Package: Each package has two parts: 100g sachet + 10kg bag of sodium benzoate and treats 400 square metres of top layer surface. The content of both bags is mixed to a total final volume of 100 litres of water.
Blend recommendation: Keep 5 litres of water to mix the bacteria into. Slowly pour the sodium benzoate into the remaining 95 litres of water under constant agitation. Mix the bacteria into the 5 litres of water. Once dissolved, ensure proper mixing of the bacteria solution into the sodium benzoate solution with good agitation.
Application: Applied as a top layer treatment, apply 1 litre of the mixed solution to every 4 square metres. 1 box treats 400 square metres of clamp surface.
Applied to the whole crop, apply 4 litres of solution to every tonne of forage. When used as directed, 4 grams of SiloSolve® OS inoculates 1 tonne of fresh forage at a rate of 300,000 cpu/g.
